Nikolay Beregovoy is the President of the Federation of Blind Football Players, hero of the social video "Brothers"
The film "Brothers" by the Federation of Blind Football Players (Russia) is the winner in the Social Video nomination at the LAMPA Film Festival.
This is a story about two brothers, Denis and Nikita Egorov. They are players of the Russian Paralympic team, for whom the lack of vision is not a reason to deny themselves the pleasure of playing football at the highest level.
This is a story of brotherhood and strong family ties. The kind of relationship that is not found amongst normal, sighted people. They appear to see things that are beyond the human eye: they look deeper than we do.
Such a story would not have happened if not for the coach, President of the Federation of Blind Football Players, Nikolay Beregovoy.
His biography is worthy of a separate adaptation. He started as a teacher of Physical Education in the school (1987).
After college, he graduated and worked as a physical education teacher and coach at the Vocational Teacher Training College, and concurrently coached a team of blind athletes in goalball and torbol and visually impaired in futsal since 1992.
One of his greatest achievements is winning the World Championship 2013 (Sendai, Japan).
Continuing to work as a senior coach of the Russian National Blind Sports Team (goalball, torball, futsal), Nikolay recruited a group of blind children and started to hold every evening training sessions with them, including weekends.
At the first World Youth Goalball Championship (USA, Colorado Springs) the team under his leadership became the vice-champion, losing only to the home team USA. Coaching a team in which 90% of the athletes were totally blind (5 total blind out of 6 players), has made it one of the strongest teams, repeatedly winning with them the Championships and Superiority of Russia, as well as becoming winners and prize winners of many Russian and international competitions.
