Ken Wood is a co-founder of Lifetime Wells Internationalthe organization that drills wells in African countries for free to give many people an opportunity to live healthy.
Ken Wood was just an ordinary country boy who decided to build a well-drilling business in 1968.
In 2006 the church in Pennsylvania reached out to Ken to discuss acquiring one of his rigs. They saw an article from National Geographic about the problem of dracunculiasis in Ghana. Ken was suggested to go there himself. Since then Ken’s life has never been the same.
«When I get there and see the devastation, people hauling buckets of water miles and miles and getting water out of the scum, things like this, it changes your outlook on life», Wood said.
Since about 2011, the company has also started drilling in Tanzania. By mid 2016 Lifetime Wells International dug more than 1500 wells, both in Ghana and Tanzania.
The story of Ken Wood is an inspiring story about empathy and humanism that makes you think, «Everyone can help people in need, you just need to start caring and stop being indifferent».
