Shortlist Announced: Semifinalists of the LAMPA Film Festival
The LAMPA shortlist includes 69 films from 11 countries. The festival returns to Perm from October 9 to 11, and among the expected guests are creators of socially oriented films from Iran, India, Turkey, China, France, the UK, Germany, Austria, Brazil, and Mexico.
This year, the most popular category was short fiction films. Among the semifinalists are such well-known names as Ivan Dobronravov, Ivan Sosnin, Evgeny Tsyganov, Dmitry Pasichnyuk, and Evgeniya Shevchenko. The feature-length impact film competition promises to be equally impressive, with contenders including "Krasavitsa" by Anton Bogdanov, "You Drive Me Crazy" by Daria Lebedeva, "Yura Was Here" by Sergey Malkin, "Sidney Lumet’s Day of Birth" by Raul Geydarov, and others.
The lineup of social impact series has also expanded considerably, with entries including "I Didn't Get Into Hogwarts", featuring an outstanding cast, "Get Back On Your Feet", "First Racket", "My Mom's Penguins", and "The Changers 3".
In total, the selection committee reviewed 1,058 submissions from 60 countries across the following categories: documentary, fiction, and animated short films, social videos, special focus, social impact feature-length films, social impact series, and vertical cinema — the latter running for the third consecutive year on VK Video, targeting younger social media users and bloggers.
For the first time, the semifinalists of the VK Clips creative contest "LAMPA Inspires" were unveiled alongside the main competition nominees. Over 100 clips tackling youth-relevant social issues were submitted, with eight ultimately making the shortlist. Their creators will join professional directors in both the competitive screenings and the festival’s business program. The winners will be announced on October 11 at the LAMPA Closing Ceremony in Perm.
