After his wife’s death, grandfather Osip withdrew into himself. Until the day he resolved to surrender her beloved horse to the farm. When the neighbor’s girl, Alice, decides to rescue the animal, she stubbornly follows him into the woods. Their arduous journey, fraught with quarrels and misunderstandings, slowly forges an unexpected bond. In saving Alice from danger, Osip confronts his own crushing loneliness. Together, they turn back home, determined never to face solitude again, and to care for the horse as family.
