Igor and his son Senya go to North Ossetia for the funeral of his father, with whom he hadn’t spoken for many years. Senya is unaware of his grandfather's death. Igor tells him an old legend about a turtle and an old tree. When they arrived at their home village, Igor fulfills his father’s last will and digs a pit beneath the tree. After the funeral, Senya waters the tree. As they prepare to return, the old legend comes true, and father and son realise that their home is here, on the native land.
