About film

According to official data, up to 90% of forest fires in Russia are caused by humans. As an ecologically conscious lumber producer, Segezha Group cares about the wildfires problem and constantly highlights it in its campaigns to raise society’s awareness. This year, the company decided to involve a local influencer and launch a joint campaign. The team got in touch with Victor Kaplun, a famous Siberian artist. He is known for his works that often reflect his reaction to important social problems. Moreover, the wildfires issue is particularly close to home for Victor. His mother had worked in the forest, and did not return home one day. She died in a fire accident, so the artist and his siblings became orphans. Segezha Group was touched by Victor’s story and contacted the painter. The collaboration resulted in three drawings in which Victor expressed his thoughts and feelings about forest fires and the humans’ part in them. In this video, we share Victor Kaplun’s personal story and present his works that were later turned into billboards and displayed across his hometown. We hope that the message the campaign delivers will be heard and people will understand that mankind lives as long as forests do.
